How it works
Like a phone contract, for a website you own.
The biggest thing that stops a small business getting a proper website is the bill at the start, often a thousand pounds or more before anything is even built. So we removed it. There is no build fee and no setup fee. The website is designed, built and included in your monthly plan.
Think of it the way a phone network gives you a handset with nothing to pay upfront on a monthly plan. Nothing upfront, a clear monthly price, a 12-month term. The important difference: you own your website outright from the day it launches, the code, the content, the domain, all in your name. You are never locked in the way a rented website locks you in.
The monthly fee is a fair price for genuine ongoing services, hosting, security, backups, business email, support, and on the Local SEO plan, active monthly search work. It is not a build cost in disguise. If you ever leave after the 12-month plan, you keep your website and we help you move it. Founding clients keep their rate for as long as they stay.

Not a fit
- Anonymous or no-name clients. The whole point of the founding offer is a public portfolio.
- Projects that need ecommerce, booking systems, member areas, or custom integrations. We can quote those separately at normal rates.
- Businesses chasing the cheapest possible option with no interest in the work being any good. The founding offer is a partnership, not a giveaway.
- Owners who are not comfortable with a 12-month plan. The plan is how the no-upfront-cost model works, and it is the same shape as a phone contract.

Our standard pricing will go up once the portfolio and the reviews are in place, but founding clients are a closed group, and your £29 or £49 rate stays exactly that for as long as you stay with Copper Lane. It is a genuine thank-you for backing a new studio early.
What is the catch?

No catch, but I am choosy about who I take on. I want a spread of real businesses that will give an honest review, let me use the site as a case study, and stay in touch as I build the studio out. If you are happy to do that, the offer is straightforward.
Do I own the site?

Yes. The site is yours from launch. Code, content, domain, accounts, all in your name. The build was included in your plan at no upfront cost; it is not a debt and it is never charged back to you. If you ever want to leave after the 12-month plan, I export the files and walk you through the move.
What happens if I want to leave?

Both plans run on a 12-month term, the same as a phone contract, because that is what makes the no-upfront-cost model work. If you leave early, you settle the remaining months of the plan, exactly like any minimum-term contract. After the 12 months, the plan simply continues month to month with 30 days notice either way, and you keep your website.
Which plan should I choose?

Most businesses should choose the £49/month Local SEO plan. It includes everything in Essentials and adds the active monthly local SEO work that actually gets you found and brings enquiries in, and it is what produces the strongest case studies. Essentials at £29/month keeps a professional website running and safe; Local SEO makes it work for you. We will talk it through and give you an honest recommendation.
What if I want pages or features beyond a normal website?

Extras like custom photography, copywriting from scratch on a long brief, ecommerce, booking systems, or a second language are quoted separately at fair rates. I will tell you up front before we start so there are no surprises.
How long does it take to build?

Usually two to four weeks from a signed brief once I have your content and photos. If you are organised, faster. If you take a month to send the photos, slower. I will tell you what I need and when, and we agree the timescale in writing before any work starts.
