Copper Lane (“we”, “us”) is a web design and local SEO agency based at 3a St Benedicts Close, Ampleforth, North Yorkshire, YO62 4DS. This page explains what data we collect, why, how long we keep it, and the rights you have under UK GDPR.
What we collect when you contact us
When you submit a form on this site, we collect the information you choose to send, typically your name, contact details, company, budget range, attribution information and a description of the project or question.
Different forms use different processors: Web3Forms, HubSpot and LeadConnector (GoHighLevel), as well as Copper Lane’s own email or webhook handling. They process the submission so we can receive it, respond and keep the enquiry history together. Submissions currently remain in the relevant inbox or CRM unless you ask us to delete them.
Cookies and analytics
This site uses Google Analytics 4 to measure how visitors find and use the site. GA4 sets the following cookies on your device when you visit:
- _ga, used to identify a returning visitor. Expires after 2 years.
- _ga_<measurement-id>, used to maintain session state. Expires after 2 years.
Analytics measurement is enabled by default when a page loads. We request IP anonymisation and keep Google advertising storage, user-data and personalisation signals switched off. You can turn analytics off at any time using the Privacy choices control at the bottom of the site. That preference is stored on your device and used on later visits.
Meta Pixel (Facebook and Instagram)
We use the Meta Pixel to measure the performance of advertising on Facebook and Instagram, and to show relevant follow-up ads. The pixel does not load unless you choose Allow all in Privacy choices. If allowed, it may set the following cookies on your device:
- _fbp, a first-party browser ID used to attribute ad activity. Expires after 3 months.
- _fbc, set only if you arrived from a Meta ad click. Expires after 3 months.
When allowed, the pixel sends a PageView event to Meta when a page loads and may send a Lead event after a successful form submission.
You can withdraw that choice at any time using the persistent Privacy choices control. The site then revokes Meta consent and removes the first-party Meta cookies it can access. You can also control ad personalisation in your Facebook account settings.
What we don’t do
- We don’t sell, rent, or share any personal data with third parties for marketing.
- We don’t run advertising on the site itself.
- We don’t add visitors to any mailing list without explicit opt-in.
Your rights under UK GDPR
You have the right to ask us what data we hold about you, to correct it, to ask us to delete it, and to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office if you think we’ve handled your data unfairly. To exercise any of these rights, email hello@copperlane.co.uk and we will respond within one calendar month.
Legal basis
We process enquiry data because you asked us to respond and because we have a legitimate interest in handling potential-client enquiries. Where a form separately offers updates, that use relies on your consent. We use analytics to understand and improve the site, with a persistent means to object. Meta advertising measurement relies on your explicit consent and stays off unless you allow it.
Data controller
The data controller is Copper Lane, a trading name of Sean Inglis, 3a St Benedicts Close, Ampleforth, North Yorkshire, YO62 4DS. The ICO registration number will be added here once registration completes.
